EPA and DOE press call today.

Talk about synergy between agencies, the EPA and DOE will hold a joint press call today to discuss a pilot testing of new product designation within the Energy Star program. The US saved nearly $18 billion on their utility bills in 2010 alone with Energy Star and enough energy to avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those from 33 million cars.

I'm excited to hear what this joint session will tell us. If you should have the opportunity to listen in on this press call, see below for detailed information.

WHO: Susan Wickwire, Acting Director, Climate Protection Partnerships Division (EPA)
Kathleen Hogan, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency (DOE)

WHAT: Energy Star Announcement

WHEN: Thursday, July 14, 12:30 p.m. EDT

HOW: Members of the press should contact Karissa Marcum at karissa.marcum@hq.doe.gov to receive call-in information.
